Y9 HistoryThe Y9 History Entrance course takes a inquiry-based and concept-focused approach to History, charting the development of the modern world from the Industrial Revolution of the late eighteenth century to the World Wars of the twentieth century. Students are coached in developing their critical thinking and collaboration skills, whilst undertaking creative forms of assessment such as speeches, museum displays, visual design and essays.

ElementsThe History department offers a range of Elements courses for Year 9 - Year 11 students which run in both semesters throughout the year. Big History is a transdisciplinary course which examines the history of the universe from both a scientific and social studies perspective. Social History gives students a chance to explore their own local, family and personal histories, teaching you the skills needed for historical inquiry and investigation.

IGCSE HistoryThe Edexcel IGCSE History course is a fascinating and intellectually stimulating modern world history course. The course trains students in skills source as source analysis, argumentation, and critical thinking whilst helping students to understand historical concepts such as causation, significance and perspective. Students are assessed in two exam papers on four units: Germany 1918-45, China 1900-1989, Russia 1905-1924, USA 1945-72.

IBDP HistoryThe IBDP History course is a rigorous pre-university course specialising in Modern World East Asian history. For the SL course, students study two papers. Paper 1 explores Rights and Protest in the 20th century, culminating in a source-based exam. Paper 2 is a concept-based paper that explores the Cold War and Authoritarian States. HL students undertake Paper 3, which focuses on 20th century developments in China, Korea and Japan.
