Your teacher may ask you to download this worksheet if completing this lesson during home learning. Lesson tasks Starter You will be allocated an object. You have 1 minute to think about what life would be like without that object. You will then pair up and have 1 minute to share your ideas with your partner. Your teacher may ask you to share your ideas with the class. |
Activity 1
On the class padlet, brainstorm everything you know about the key concepts: change, innovation and revolution (without googling!)
Activity 2
Use slides 5-7 to identify the changes that occurred as a result of industrialisation.
Activity 3
Look at the statistics on slide 8. What was the most impressive change? Are these changes connected in any way? Write up your answers in full sentence.
Activity 4
This activity has three parts.
1. Categorising
Read the summary cards and categorise them using the key headings in your brainstorm.
2. Linking
Which of the factors can be linked together. Draw a line between the factors that you believe are linked. On the line, describe the way that the two factors are linked - use the linking verbs to help you describe the link.
3. Importance
Which of these factors do you consider to be the most important in causing industrialisation to start in Britain? Rank the factors in importance from 1-6. Be prepared to justify your choices.
